Ember Sky Therapy: Finding Light in the Darkness

Why Ember Sky? Ember skies make me think of sunrises and sunsets, beginnings and endings, and the warmth of the fire.

It conjures many different images, but for me the first was sitting beside a fireplace, sensations of comfort and warmth, surrounded by the cloak of darkness and connecting with another person as we listen to a story which resonates inside our souls. This is what counselling means to me. It means sitting beside someone, creating a small space of light and comfort in a sea of darkness, and sharing a story. Making space for the words to be heard and felt and being held within them. Hearing life stories is what drew me to becoming a counsellor, but finding a way to rewrite a story, finding new words for old pain, and lighting a spark of hope for a different ending, that is what keeps me coming back every day. Knowing that even the smallest ember holds the power to reignite warmth, healing, and transformation. When life feels overwhelming, a spark of hope can illuminate the way forward.

I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can safely explore the complexities of trauma, reconnect with yourself, and foster personal growth through meaningful connection. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to supporting each individual’s unique healing journey.

About Me

My name is Samantha, and I am an integrative counsellor working both online and in person from Taunton, Somerset. I shape therapy around your experiences, using a range of approaches to create a personalised and flexible space where healing can take root in a way that feels right for you.

I have spent many years supporting adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse, drawing from years of research and experience to help navigate the lasting emotional imprints these experiences leave. Trauma can shape self-perception, relationships, and resilience, but having a compassionate space to process its effects can be a transformative step toward healing and reclaiming your sense of self.

Having started my Counselling career in the mental health arena, working with adults facing mental health challenges, as well as the friends and family who stand beside them. I understand that mental health difficulties impact not only the individual but also their loved ones in profound ways. Therapy offers support, understanding, and a path toward renewed strength, it can give you the space to refill your cup so you can support those you love.

A Safe, Supportive Space

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their ethical framework to ensure I provide a safe, confidential, and respectful therapeutic space.

Over the years, I have helped clients facing a range of difficulties, from generalised anxiety and work-related stress to mental and physical health concerns. I have also worked with survivors of domestic abuse, childhood trauma and abuse, rape, and sexual assault. My focus is on helping you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and rediscover the spark that brings meaning and vitality to your life.
